Weather station

Hardware

The station is powered by a Davis Vantage VUE weather station. The data is collected at various intervals and the site and database is updated every minute. Wind data is collected every 2.5 seconds. Temperature data is collected every 10 seconds. Precipitation data is collected every 20 seconds. Dew Point is collected every 10 seconds and Humidity is collected every 50 seconds. Barometric Pressure is collected every minute.

The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge, and a thermo-hygro sensor situated 10 feet above ground.

Additional hardware is used to connect the weather station to the internet. A TP-Link TL-MR3020 router with updated firmware known as Meteobridge connects to the internet to update this site as well as popular weather networks.

Software

The website is powered by a MySQL database running on an Apache web server, and is utilizing a customized version of Meteotemplate which is written primarily in PHP.

Station History

The weather station has been operational since March, 2015 and has been connected to the internet since July, 2015.
